Lucy and Ryan were married at Seven Day Adventist Church in North Perth, Australia, followed by a reception at Sittella Winery in Swan Valley, on April 27. The bride opted for a casual look with a strapless, flowy gown featuring ruching and layering details. She wore her hair in a relaxed updo under a veil that Lucy and her grandmother handmade together. She carried a bouquet complete with dark red peonies, thistle, and greenery. Her ‘maids wore short, sleeveless, navy blue dresses and carried bouquets featuring white blooms and greenery. The groom donned a navy blue suit and bow tie, while his men wore white button-down shirts with red ties. “Everything was centered around creating a warm atmosphere,” Lucy said. “I have dappled in a bit of interior design so I took on the role of visual design of the ceremony and reception.” The couple exchanged vows in front of 100 guests in a traditional ceremony, with an ivy-covered arch as the backdrop, and featured the bride’s 5-year-old cousin as the flower girl. The guests then moved to the Sittella Winery for food, drinks, and dancing. “We wanted our wedding to be relaxed- a day where we could celebrate the start of the rest of our lives and genuinely enjoy the company of our closest friends and family,” Lucy said. Each table featured a floral centerpiece, with the table number written on a mini chalkboard, and tea towel favors designed by the couple. The reception featured games such as the newlywed shoe game, and a more creative component as well! “Each table had to come up with a poem for the bride and groom- a very hilarious event that included a spectacular impromptu rap form one of the guests,” Lucy said. Guests enjoyed a three-tiered cake adorned with greenery for dessert. Lucy’s advice for engaged couples? “Set aside regular times during the planning to keep your family and brial party in the loop,” she said. “It’s important that everyone is on the same page for the big day.” See the full board here.
